Rooted is for anyone who wants to grow deeper with Jesus.
Rooted is designed to deepen your connection with God, His church, and the purpose He made you for. Each week centers on a spiritual rhythm essential to a healthy, growing life: community, prayer, daily time in Scripture, serving, generosity, worship, sharing your story, and more. Come as you are, bring an open heart, and see how God surprises you.
Upcoming Session
FALL SESSION: SEPTEMBER 15 – DECEMBER 1
Rooted is offered twice a year. This session runs 10 weeks and finishes with a celebration meal, so plan on 11 weeks together. Groups meet at the Normal Campus on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. (We won’t meet Thanksgiving week.)
Registering is free. Your participant guide is $20, and you’ll purchase it on a Sunday at the Rooted sign-up kiosks or in the Family Room. If cost is a concern, email [email protected] and we’ll provide a scholarship, simply and gladly.
What is Rooted?
Rooted is a small group experience designed to connect you to God, His church, and your purpose. Together, in groups of about 10, you’ll:
- Explore the Bible
- Engage in prayer and serve experiences
- Share stories and build community
- Practice the rhythms of a healthy life with Jesus
Groups meet in person and are led by a trained facilitator who comes alongside you the whole way. This is being before doing, formation before mission. It’s how we become the kind of people who bring hope + healing wherever we go.

Interested in leading a Rooted group?
Some of the best things that happen in Rooted come through the person leading the room. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to go and bring. Facilitators are trained and supported the whole way.

How will my Rooted group be chosen?
Our Rooted team prayerfully places participants into groups of about 10. We group by age, marital status, and life stage, and the final groups depend on who registers for each season. A lot of prayer and thought goes into building groups where everyone can grow, and we do our best to honor friend and leader requests whenever we can.
Can I go through Rooted with someone I already know?
Yes. There’s a spot on the registration form to tell us who, and we’ll do our best to keep you together. If you’re already in a small group and want to go through Rooted as a group, that works too, with one thing to know: your group will need a trained Rooted facilitator and will run during an official Rooted session, so you get the full experience.
Who is Rooted for?
Anyone who wants to grow deeper with Jesus. Whether you’re brand new to Eastview, brand new to faith, or you’ve been around a long time and want to go deeper, Rooted is built for you. Groups are for adults 18 and older.
Do I need to buy a book?
Yes. Your participant guide is $20, and you’ll purchase it on a Sunday at the Rooted sign-up kiosks or in the Family Room, any Sunday before your group starts. If cost is a concern, email [email protected] and we’ll provide a scholarship, simply and gladly.
What if I can't make it to every week?
So much of Rooted happens in the room, and it works best when your group is together. When you register, we ask you to commit to being there each week and to plan on missing no more than two sessions. If you already know you’ll miss more than that, we’d rather you join us next session so you don’t miss the heart of it.
What happens after Rooted?
After Rooted, your group has the option to stay together as a Small Group. We believe discipleship happens best in relationship with other believers, and that life really is better together. Rooted is the doorway. A group is the home.
